a vision of diversity and hope, painted by children suffering from Agent Orange congenital defects; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The Interfaith Veterans’ Workgroup welcomes veterans home to use their warrior wisdom for peacemaking. IVW, consisting of both veteran and civilian members, formed in 2015 to prevent veteran suicide in the state of Delaware. We use non-clinical methods to provide healing:  opportunities for public service and camaraderie. Present programs include a hiking group, a writing group, meditation training, and a veteran to veteran hospice visiting group. Programs in the planning stage include the Veterans’ Peace Videos Project, which engages veterans as video trainers to help communities of faith and non-profits make their own web videos about peacemaking; and a veterans visual arts project.
